# CXP Guidelines

CXP stands for **Context Execution Proposal**. CXPs are the primary mechanism for proposing substantial changes to CXP.

## When to use a CXP

* New protocol features or schemas
* Breaking changes
* Interoperability standards
* Governance or process changes

## CXP lifecycle states

* draft → in-review → accepted → final
* rejected / withdrawn / superseded / dormant
